A one- day hands-on work shop on ‘Fundamentals of Ceramic Veneers -Preparation to Bonding’ was organized by the chairperson of Specialist Dental Education Academy, Dr. Ahmed Yar (BDS, FCPS Operative Dentistry) at his private practice in Quetta on November 8, 2020. The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Samia Shafiq (BDS, FCPS Prosthodontics) and Dr. Najeebullah (BDS, FCPS II Resident in Prosthodontics). It was attended by 12 participants from all over Balochistan. The event was inaugurated by the recitation of verses of Holy Quran and then the facilitators enlightened the participants with a very knowlegable lecture till tea break. The after-tea session comprised of the hands-on facilitation of the participants and the live display of the procedures greatly assisted the participants to clearly visualize and understand the biomechanics of the procedures. The candidates actively participated and a lot of discussion was generated which kept the momentum of the event. An interactive session regarding patient counselling was executed at the end of the workshop and finally the certificate distribution ceremony by the Guest of Honor (DR. Shae Mureed, HOD, Dept of Prosthodontics, Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Quetta) was held, followed by lunch.
It was a day full of knowledge, skill and good communication.
